Before founding M.A. Mock Enterprises in 1988, Michael was the chief Estimator for the Current Builders Inc. of Pompano Beach, Florida. After being hired in 1979 as a carpenter, he quickly worked his way up to foreman. In 1982 Michael was promoted to Field Engineer and assisted in writing subcontractor agreements, scheduling and coordination of subcontractors, estimating, review of shop drawings and submittal data. Michael was again promoted in 1984 to the position of Project Manager/Estimator, in charge of subcontractor bid solicitation, owner/client liason, coordination with architect and engineer, budget preparations, establishing schedules of value, estimating and overall responsibility for completion of projects in excess of $30,000,000. Michael was named Chief Estimator in 1986, and in the next two years submitted over $100,000,000 in hard bids and conceptual estimates in addition to the assembly of ten different apartment project bid estimates during this period encompassing more than 4000 units. All the contracts awarded to Current Builders proved to be profitable during this period of time. Michael graduated from Florida International University, with honors, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management. He currently holds a State of Florida General Contractors License and currently has a North Carolina General Contractors Unlimited License as well as a North Carolina Real Estate Brokers License. Since locating to North Carolina in 1989, M.A. Mock Enterprises has completeed more than $50,000,000 in new construction. In 1995, Michael and his brother Butch founded Mock Investments Inc. and Mock Properties LLC, which has designed, developed and managed commercial real estate in North Carolina. Michael has personally been involved with the design and construction of every one of the commercial properties owned by the Mock companies, insuring a high standard of construction and cost control.
